The extension 1Click Webpage Screenshot is available for free on Chrome Web Store for several years. In 2015, it was developed by an independent team, promoting an open source philosophy, with code publicly available via GitHub. The initial goal was to provide a lightweight, fast, and ad-free tool for capturing entire web pages, from top to bottom. And this, without having to perform complex manipulations or install third-party software.

The extension works from the capture API of Chrome, coupled with custom scripts injected into the page. When you click on the icon in the toolbar Sailor, the tool automatically scrolls the page to capture all visible content, even parts that don't immediately appear on screen. Once scrolling is complete, the image is reconstructed and displayed in a new tab, ready for download.

No account is required, and the tool does not collect personal data according to the information provided on its Chrome Web Store listing. Everything is based on a minimalist interface, designed to get to the point: capture, view, record.

  • Edit content: Once you have chosen the capture type, you can edit the recorded page before saving it. The tools remain classic, however (text, drawings, brushes, etc.).
