A few years ago, we told you about SHRTURL, a website that allowed you to modify websites to trick your friends and family, but this site closed down in 2014. Fortunately, there are alternatives, and we're going to present them to you here.
Designed to trap your friends, all these sites have in common that they allow you to send around modified versions of websites in which you can say anything and everything.

CloneZone
Very similar to SHRTURL, CloneZone allows you to create your own version of popular websites.
Enter the URL of the site you want to clone, edit the content by adding images, by modifying the text and then publishing your version of the site in question.
You will then get an (almost) credible link that you will be able to share.
CloneZone works quite well, however. you will not be able to edit sites in HTTPS… too bad, because there are more and more of them on the web!
Use a small piece of JavaScript code
There is a very effective solution to modify the content of a web page using a small piece of JavaScript code.
Install the code
Installing this little piece of code to edit a website is very simple. Just select the code below and drag it to your bookmarks bar, where it will be automatically saved.

document.designMode='on'; void 0Alternatively, you can also manually create a new bookmark and paste this piece of code instead of the URL.
Once the bookmark is created, you just have to navigate to the site you want to modify and click on the link that was created in your bookmarks bar… And presto, like magic, you can edit any text on the page in question…
Very easy to use, this trick nevertheless has a big flaw, it is not possible to share a link to your creation. You will have to show the site on your computer or make a screenshot.
FakeUpdate
With FakeUpdate, we're moving away from the SHRTURL alternative a bit, but you still have something to laugh about.
This site is designed to trick people into thinking their computer is being updated.
Old as the first computers, this prank consists of using an animated image representing an update screen and switching the window to full screen mode to trap friends and colleagues! Classic, but still as effective
