This video is from last year, but I just stumbled upon it by chance and thought it was worth sharing with you.
Indeed, this video brings together excerpts from a large number of Formula 1 video games from 1976 to 2015. Beyond this type of game, we discover in 5 minutes all the evolution of the graphic possibilities that our computers and game consoles have offered over time. And there is no doubt, in 40 years, the developments are incredible to the point of arriving today at games close to reality.
Unfortunately, the author of the video did not identify all the games he compiled, but there are still some classics like:
- Night Driver (1976) by Atari
- Pole Position (1982) by Namco
- Final Lap (1987) by Namco
- Grand Prix 2 (1996) by MicroProse
- Formula One 2002 (2002) by Sony
- ...
If in 40 years, game graphics have evolved so dazzlingly, I can't wait to see what it will look like in 40 years! In any case, I'm sure that the most nostalgic among you will remember lots of good memories when seeing these images!
The video is unfortunately no longer available, but here is the same genre for games from 1987 to 2013
