Remember when pagers, disposable cameras and cassette players were all the rage? The golden age of the 80s! Now these devices have become retro and our kids don't even know about them! Real museum pieces!
And for good reason, since the beginning of this century, these devices have become dematerialized and have been replaced by applications or online services such as WhatsApp, Instagram or Spotify. The world has changed!
But suddenly this inspired the artistic and creative director Thomas Ollivier, aka Tom Le French, who created Re:Birth a project in which he brings back to life objects and technologies from the pre-internet era!
He has thus created a sort of mashup in which he revives emblematic technologies from the end of the 20th century by associating them with products or applications from today's high-tech giants.
Spotify takes on the features of a good old Walkman, Facebook becomes a pager, WhatsApp, a walkie-talkie, Adobe Illustrator, a magic slate… Each association shows how technological developments have influenced human habits in just a few decades.
The result is really nice and should give a little nostalgia to the oldest among you!
