Some people use Instagram to post their holiday photos, others to post their best selfies, Julien launched the Instagram account a year ago idontgiveaseat to list all the fabric patterns on public transport he takes around the world.
And the most amazing thing about it all is that the result is pretty cool!
Interviewed by the Huffington Post, Julien explains his approach:
The idea came from the different trips I made for my work or when I was on vacation. I noticed that each bus, each metro had its own seat pattern. I liked to get lost in my thoughts while contemplating these patterns. So I decided to take pictures of them and collect them. It was a way for me to pay tribute to these "seatartists"
Among the things that struck him during his adventure, the creator of the account particularly remembers the armchairs in Japan covered with a fabric whose pictograms represent elderly people or pregnant women, allowing users to immediately understand that these seats are reserved!
Beyond the unusual aspect of this account, the grouped rendering of all these photos is in my opinion of the order of an artistic project… which makes this Instagram account great!
