Okay, I know, it's not a very fun subject and you don't necessarily want to know how you risk dying, but there is a simulator that allows you to get a statistical idea.
Developed by Nathan Yau, How You Will Die is a strangely cute simulator that will try to guess how and when you will die based on your gender, race, and age.
To create this simulation, Yau relied on data provided by the American organization Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which compiles all information related to people who died in the United States from 1999 to 2014, based on their death certificate.
While the CDC breaks down causes of death into 113 categories, these have been grouped into 15 main categories to simplify the simulator.
Here's how Nathan Yau explains his app:
Enter your gender, race, and age. Each point represents one of your simulated lives, and as the years go by, more and more of your simulated "you" die. The colors correspond to the causes of death, and the bars on the right display the cumulative percentages. At the end of the simulation, you can see the probabilities you have of dying from each of the causes displayed.
So, as a 35 year old white male, I have a 38% chance of dying from cardiovascular disease, a 26% chance of dying from cancer, and a 0% chance of dying in childbirth!
Be careful, however, as this simulation is based on American statistics, the data is not necessarily adapted to our probably healthier European lifestyle (even if it tends to gradually align with that of our friends across the Atlantic).
On that note, have a good day everyone and enjoy it while you still can!

Hello, our lifestyle is probably more “healthy” (and not healthy haha).
Have a good day !!
