A rebus is a guessing game that consists of finding a word or phrase hidden behind one or more images or symbols. Particularly appreciated by children (but not only!), rebuses can be created quite easily if you are a little patient or well organized.
Some time ago I told you about the online rebus generator Rebus-O-Matic, a very nice site that allows you to generate rebuses from a word, a sentence or a text… here is an alternative in case the latter does not suit you.
In fact, the Langue au Chat website offers a very similar tool of rebus generator. This tool is 100% free and very easy to use!

La Langue au Chat is a community word game site and among the tools it offers is a free rebus generator.
This generator is very simple to use since you only have to enter the word or phrase to convert into a rebus in the field provided for this purpose and click on the "Transform into rebus" button... And presto, in a few seconds, the site will generate your rebus in the form of a JPG image.
You then have more options to retrieve your puzzle. You can either right-click on the image and "Save image as" or share a link to this puzzle. In this 2nd option, a small button will display the solution to the riddle. Finally, if you create a free account on La Langue au Chat you can also share the puzzle by email.
Behind what appears to be a simple syllable cutting tool is actually an intelligent system that will allow sounds to be processed according to the context. Thus, "couvent" will be transcribed differently in the sentence "Les poules couvent leurs oeufs" and "Les bonnes soeurs du couvent".
In short, this rebus generator from the Langue au Chat site works really well and should allow you to very easily create rebuses for all occasions!
