With the advent of the smartphone, digital photography has exploded. If you're like me, you spend your day taking pictures of your surroundings with your phone. But one of the big advantages of digital photography is that it can be edited very easily and there are an impressive number of tools to do so: mobile applications, professional software like Photoshop or even online utilities.
Photofiltres.fr is part of this last category. It is a free online tool which will allow you to add, as its name suggests, filters to your photos… but not only that! This tool has, in fact, many very interesting options!

You will be able to see for yourself, but this site is extremely effective for highlighting your photos. In fact, it offers a series of very easy-to-use tools.
To get started, you need to upload your photo to the site via the “File” menu. There you will find several options to retrieve your photo to your computer, to Dropbox, via a URL or directly from your device’s camera.
Then, you will be able to make the common adjustments to enhance your photo using the "Elementary" menu. You will find among other things parameters such as exposure, color adjustments, distortion... but also the possibility of cropping, rotate or blur your photo.
The second set of tools allows you to apply a series of filters to your photo. Logically grouped in the "Filters" menu, there are over a hundred to test and you will even find all the Instagram filters there!
And finally, the last category of the menu concerns the "Effects". In total more than 40 effects of all kinds that will allow you to add a frame, to give a "cartoon" style, to pixelate, to transform your photo into ASCII art... Some effects have variations or allow you to adjust the settings… others are applicable as is!
What's quite interesting about this tool is that some adjustments, effects and filters can be applied to the entire image or to an area you select.
Once you are happy with your result, go back to the "File" menu and select the "Save Image As..." option to download it. You will be able to choose an output format: JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP or PDF.
