Although Quantum, the new version 57 of Firefox, the famous web browser, has been much talked about recently thanks to its very good performance, some users are experiencing some inconveniences.
This is particularly the case at the level of tab size. If, like me, you are used to opening a multitude of tabs, you will notice that the more you open, the smaller their size will become. The idea behind this setting is to be able to fit as many tabs as possible without having to scroll through them, but unfortunately, this makes them unreadable for quick access.
Readers of the Korben blog have proposed a solution to fix this problem and increase the minimum width of the tabs.
In Firefox's fine-tuning
To access Firefox's fine-tune settings, type the following code into the browser's address bar:
about: config
Then do a search for the following value:
browser.tabs.tabMinWidth
This is the key that governs the minimum width of browser tabs. It is set to 76 by default.
Double-click the key to enter a width that suits you. The changes are made in real time on the browser as soon as you press the OK button. No need to restart Firefox, which allows you to test the configuration that suits you best.
