Good news for all French people, since the State has just put online a new website allowing you to protect your telephone numbers (landline and/or mobile) against telephone canvassing! Woohoo!
No more “Hello, you want to change your windows”, “We are going to optimize your assets”… Now you will be able to protect yourself against these annoying intrusions into your life!
Available since June 1, 2016, Bloctel is a telephone canvassing opt-out list on which you can register for free.
On the other hand, and the system emphasizes this, you can still be called by the following people:
- By professionals with whom you have a current contract
- For prospecting calls for the supply of newspapers, periodicals or magazines
- If you have freely and unequivocally communicated your number in order to be called back
- For reasons that do not relate to the sale of goods or services such as:
- Calls from a public service
- Calls from research and polling institutes
- Appeals from non-profit organizations
To register, It's very simple, go to the registration page from Bloctel enter your email (which will allow you to access your personal space later), a password and all your personal information (address, telephone, etc.). Then Add the phone numbers you want to protect from solicitors.
Your numbers will then be registered on the list for 3 years and you will receive an email 3 months before the end of these 3 years to renew your protection.
In short, this is very good news for French consumers who are fed up with being approached!
