This is awesome… I stumbled upon this a few days ago Blookup, a website that allows you to transform a blog into a book and print it. And frankly, it was a great timing because for some time now, I wanted to print my travel blogs to keep a record of them the day they fall into the limbo of the Internet or when I forget the passwords…
In short, this is how I was able to transform my holiday blogs into travel journals!
To return in a little more detail to the concept of Blookup, it is a platform that allows you to print your blog or social media accounts.
Currently, it is indeed possible to print your content from Blogger, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Haut et Fort, Canal Blog, Skyrock, BlogSpirit, OverBlog… or even from a PDF file.
Create a book from your blog
The good news is that creating a book from your blog with Blookup is very simple and very quick… for a very successful result.
To create your Blook, just 5 steps:
Step 1: Import
To begin, you will need to select the platform from which you want to import content (from those listed above).
Then enter all the information needed to connect to your account on this platform (blog URL, username, password, etc.). Note that Blookup does not store your login information! This is actually a good thing.
Step 2: Layout
Once all your blog articles have been retrieved, you will be able to adjust several layout details: size of your Blook (2 formats are offered), formatting of titles and formatting of text.
On this step, we will nevertheless regret that there are not a few additional options and a wider choice of colors... but hey, Blookup has bet on simplicity, and on that side, there is nothing to say!
Step 3: Choosing the content
This step is probably the longest unless you choose to publish all of your blog content.
Indeed, here, you will be able to choose which articles you want to see appear in your Blook, organize their order of appearance, classify them by categories, rename them... In short, define all the content of your book... if you have decided to also import the pages of your blog, you will also be able to organize them here.
If you wish, you can also decide to display the comments on your articles, the publication date, the URL of the links present in your texts and the name of the author of each article!
Step 4: Cover and back cover
This step will allow you to personalize the cover of your Blook.
First of all, you will be able to choose a style from 3 possibilities or decide to upload your own cover in image format… this is the choice I made in order to make my Blook more personal.
If you opt for a default cover, you will still be able to choose its color (here again, we only have a very limited palette: only 6 colors), add a title, a subtitle and an author.
For the back cover, you will be able to put a biography of the author (and yes I was able to tell my whole life) and a summary of Blook. Finally, you can once again upload an image that will be added to the back of your book, ideal for putting the author's mugshot!
Step 5: Summary
Last step and the easiest, since it is Blookup that works to generate your Blook… So you have nothing to do but wait for your Blook to be ready so that you can preview it in the form of an interactive book as in the video below:
Please note that at any time before your order you have the possibility to return to each of these steps to modify all or part of your settings... until you arrive at a result that suits you.
In the case of my travel blogs, the longest step doesn't even concern Blookup. In fact, the longest for me was creating a nice personalized cover on Photoshop...
Honestly, within 5 minutes, without the cover, my Blook was ready to order.
Once your Blook is ready, you have several options. You can print it in paper version or simply order an ebook version.
As a bonus, you can share your book and sell it through Blookup. Set your price and you will receive the difference between what Blookup receives and your price… What's more, you retain all of your copyright at all times!
In terms of prices, it depends on the format, but the first 24 pages will cost you €9 and after that you will have to pay €0.16 per page for a 15x21cm book and €0.35 for 21x29.7cm.
In addition, the Blookup team is very friendly and super responsive. As a result, they have made it available to all Byothe.fr readers a promotional code to get a 10% discount on your next order: BYOTHEBLOOK (valid until March 31).
In short, Blookup is a favorite site for me that has allowed me to keep a physical record of my travel blogs and that is really great!
