If you ever need a schematic city map for your artistic, professional, personal projects or for any other reason, the site that I am going to present to you today should please you!
City Roads is a website that is as simple as it is fantastic. Hosted by GitHub, this tool's sole purpose is to provide customizable maps of any location in the world where only streets and roads are visible.
It may not seem spectacular when you say it like that, but just try it with your hometown, for example, to see how wonderful this tool is. The maps that are rendered are reminiscent of a work of art made up of the urban fabric.
Part of the charm of these cards is that they don't contain everything you usually find in cards and, what's more, they're made with only two colors. Two shades, by the way, that are customizable.
To use City Roads, simply go to the website, type in the name of a city, region, or anything else you can think of, and let the tool fetch the data it needs from OpenStreetMap.
Once the map is generated, you can customize it by changing the color of the roads, the map background, and the text indicating the city name.
When you are satisfied with the result, you can download the map in PNG or SVG format. The possibilities offered by this tool are enormous.
In addition, Andrei Kashcha developer of this tool published his code on GitHub for anyone who would like to use it in their own developments!
