With the advent of social media, a rather terrible trend has emerged in web media: the desire to write sensationalist headlines. Indeed, on Twitter or Facebook, when you only have a few words to encourage the reader to click on a link to open the article, it's better that it rocks!
This trend, known as " putaclick (or clickbait in English) aims to " to arouse people's curiosity, but not enough to satisfy it, in order to encourage people to click on the associated link to learn more " with the aim of increasing the traffic of a media to generate more advertising revenue.
A somewhat dubious practice, but very tempting for a certain type of website!
So Eric Dupin, known in particular for his blog Lemon Squeezer, decided to create a site, Clickbait, in order to list the most sensationalist titles on the web!
You will be able to discover all the best of the worst of the web! The links point to the original articles, and you can even vote for the best clickbait titles or share them on social networks!
And since the site is collaborative, you can easily reject sites that regularly produce articles with clickbait titles.
To do this, you just have to create an account on Clickbait and then all you have to do is click on the "Suggest" button to add your best finds!
The idea is rather nice, because we have all been fooled by titles that are almost unbearable and force us to click... and which generally lead to absolutely disappointing articles...
