It is very easy to remove the background from a photograph when it is perfectly distinguishable from the outline of the main lens. There are many online tools that allow you to do this, and I have introduced you to some of them in the article 4 Free Tools to Remove Background from an Image.
But in this article, I wanted to introduce you to a tool that goes a little further. It is very good at removing the background of an image, but it also includes some very interesting tools.
This tool is called ClipDrop and it is a collection of image editing tools that include the ability to remove the background, clean up objects and defects (like cleanup.pictures), to adjust the light or even toenlarge an image.
Remove the background from a photo with ClipDrop
ClipDrop prides itself on being the most accurate background removal solution available. To achieve this, ClipDrop’s AI algorithm is able to focus on the main object in the scene to remove everything else while preserving details and maintaining sharp edges.
In addition, its use is really very simple since you just have to load the photo for which you want to remove the background on the ClipDrop site and in a few seconds its AI will do the job.
But it's all well and good to sell yourself as the most accurate solution among all the competitors, but what about it? I'll let you judge for yourself the quality of the tool's achievements thanks to these few examples.
Example 1: the easy case of a plain background
Verdict 1: No problem.
Example 2: we increase the difficulty by taking a person with curly hair, on a background that is not uniform.
Verdict 2: the result is really not bad, very few defects in the hair.
Example 3: The difficulty with this photo is determining which part of the image to keep.
Verdict 3: Complicated situation, the AI didn't really manage to determine what was really the foreground. It kept the couple sitting on the couch and part of the furniture's frame... surprising!
Example 4: What if we took a photo with transparency effects?
Verdict 4: the result is pretty good in once again difficult conditions!
In conclusion, I don't know if ClipDrop is the best background removal tool on the web, but one thing is for sure, it does the job pretty well! The clipping is good, but in difficult conditions!
Note that the tool is free up to a dimension of 1024 x 1024 pixels. To obtain larger images, you will have to pay.
