In early November, Microsoft announced major changes to its OneDrive cloud backup platform. Among other changes, the 2016GB of free storage was to be reduced to just 15GB in early 5.
But that was without taking into account the excitement of users who managed to gather more than 72 votes on the OneDrive forum for Microsoft to give them back these 000 GB of storage.
As a result, Microsoft had to backtrack by giving current users the option to keep their 15 GB:
[…] for our biggest fans who have been loyal advocates of OneDrive, we’re adding a new offer that will allow you to keep your 15GB of free storage when the changes take place next year. If you also have the 15GB Camera Roll bonus, you’ll be able to keep that too.
explains Douglas Pearce of Microsoft.
So, if you have a free OneDrive subscription and have more than 15GB of storage, just go to this address:
preview.onedrive.com/bonus/
Then click on “Keep your free storage” and accept a number of conditions and you will arrive at the following screen indicating that everything went perfectly!
Remember that this manipulation must be done before the OneDrive modifications at the end of January 2016!
