Have you ever tried to download a video from Facebook from your computer? You will see that it is not possible unless you use third-party software or online tools to extract them... And yet, as we will see, there is a quick, efficient and of course free way to do it very easily, without using any other service than Facebook itself! The trick will consist of using the mobile version of Facebook.
So here's how to do it in just a few steps, once you have a video to download.
- Start the video (if it didn't start automatically)
- Right click on the video and look for the option Show video URL

- Select the URL that appears in the small box at the top of the video. Right-click and copy it.

- Paste this address into your browser's URL bar (on a new tab or the same one, it doesn't matter).
- At the beginning of the URL, where it says www, replace the www with the letter m. So, www.facebook.com becomes m.facebook.com

- The video's mobile page will then open. Now, when the video has started (automatically or not), right-click on it and look for the option Save video as…

- Click on it and select a location to save the video in MP4 format on your computer.
And you are all set!
With Facebook things can change very quickly, but I tested this solution on Chrome and Firefox and it works perfectly on both browsers… but maybe on other browsers or in some time this trick will not work following developments of the social network. Who knows!
