The site that I am going to present to you today is a real gem… it seems so useful to me that I regret not having known about it earlier.
This site is called CopyPaste.me and it offers a smart sharing service between two devices: smartphone, computer, tablet…
I often want to share bits of text, links or even files between my iPhone and my computer (in one direction or the other)… in most cases, I send it to myself by email which is particularly tedious and inefficient. Among the alternatives I had found, I sometimes used Fileroom, a site that allowed you to create chat rooms quite easily, but it wasn't perfect.
CopyPaste.me, on the other hand, was designed with the goal of sharing passwords, pieces of text or files between multiple devices… and especially between your phone and your computer!

In order to start sharing your data between two devices, you will first need to connect them to each other. To do this, go to CopyPaste.me and choose the connection mode:
- Scan: using a QR code to scan
- Manually: by entering a code at the address https://copypaste.me/connect
- Invite: To directly forward the login link via WhatsApp or email.
Next, CopyPaste.me offers 3 options for copying and pasting between two devices.
First, you can share Safely store passwords. No need to write it down clearly on a piece of paper or share it via WhatsApp or even email… Copy it into the CopyPaste.me dialog box where it will be redacted. On the 2nd device, you just have to copy it using the “Copy to clipboard” button.
Two remarks on this feature, first of all, your password is not encrypted, if you paste it you will find your password in full… Using redaction just allows you not to display your password. Then, and CopyPaste takes great care to remind you, once pasted, do not forget to delete your password from the clipboard. The site offers to do it for you if you press “Clear clipboard now!”.
The second copy-paste option from CopyPaste.me is the simplest but not the least useful. It allows you to share a piece of text from the first device and retrieve it on the second. Super practical for retrieving a note, an article excerpt or even an html link!
And finally, the third option allows you to copy and paste documents between two devices! This is for example what I did here to send to my PC the screenshots I took on my iPhone for this article! What a productivity gain!
Regarding the security of your data, it is transferred using a secure, end-to-end encrypted connection and no data is stored on CopyPaste.me servers.
