Whether for my job or for this blog, I take screenshots on my computer several times a day. It's a good way to explain a manipulation to someone or to report a bug with a good illustration to support it.
But in general when I work on a screenshot, I need to add indications, highlight things, frame them, put arrows... in short, a screenshot that you want to share often needs to be illustrated to be more explicit!
Most of the time I use theWindows Screenshot Tool which works very well, but is limited in illustration possibilities.
Draw or annotate your screenshots
Recently I discovered CopyPasteDesign, a free online tool which allows you to fill the weaknesses of the Capture Tool without having to go through Paint or another drawing software.
Its operation is relatively simple.
Start by saving a screenshot to your clipboard. You can do this using a screenshot tool, the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard, or any other method depending on your operating system.
Go to the website CopyPasteDesign and paste it directly onto the page (Control + V on Windows or ⌘ + V on Mac). It is possible to add multiple screenshots if necessary. Your screenshot will then be visible on the tool's work area and you will be able to start having fun with the different features available.
So, you will be able to highlight text, add emojis or icons, resize your capture, write text, draw... in short, there are pretty much all the tools needed to properly illustrate an image or a screenshot.
There are also plenty of keyboard shortcuts listed here, which will allow you, among other things, to rotate elements.
Once your work is finished, you will be able to download the result in PNG format.
Finally, by creating a free account, you will be able to store your masterpieces and come back to them later!
The only downside in my opinion is that the work area is not adjustable. So you will have to put up with the white area around your screenshot... too bad!
