If you're like me, you probably have a multitude of accounts on a multitude of websites. Nowadays, when I go to a website or an Internet service, it's not uncommon for me to see that my email or username has already been used on that site, because in reality I already have an account created several months or years before. So obviously, if I want to disappear from the web one day, the task is going to be difficult. How to find all your accounts on the Internet and delete them?
Deseat.me, a new online service will help you see things more clearly.
In fact, in a few seconds, Deseat.me will list all the websites (or at least a large number of websites) on which you have an account.
To do this, you will need to give it access to your Gmail box so that it can find the accounts you have. In my case, the service found no less than 121 accounts.
Once your accounts are listed, it's up to you to do the work. Displayed 3 by 3 and unfortunately without the possibility of browsing through all of your accounts, you'll have to sort them by accounts you want to keep, accounts you want to delete, or sites for which you don't actually have an account.
Your actions will then create 2 lists, the accounts you keep and those you want to delete.
For the latter, in some cases, Deseat.me will explain the steps to follow to delete your account and take you directly to the unsubscribe page. Unfortunately, there is currently only a tiny minority of sites for which this process is explained… but this should grow over time. In any case, unsubscribing is not done automatically, it is up to you to do it.
Finally, Deseat.me is still a very good tool to sort through your accounts on the Internet, because the more online accounts you have, the more likely you are to be hacked! So, don't hesitate to take a few minutes to clean up!
