Have you ever tried to cut out an image using photo editing software? If so, you probably know that the task can quickly turn into a nightmare. Between imprecise selections, blurry edges, and hair that stubbornly refuses to cooperate, you often end up spending more time than expected in front of your screen.
Fortunately, some tools make the operation much simpler. This is particularly true of Clipping Magic.
This online service has existed for many years and allows you to remove the background of a photo in just a few seconds, without having to install any software on your computer.
How does Clipping Magic work?
The principle is deceptively simple.
You upload your photo to the site, and then the tool automatically analyzes the image to identify the main subject. In many cases, the result is already usable without having to do anything.
If needed, a few brush strokes can then be used to indicate the areas to keep and those to remove. With each modification, Clipping Magic immediately recalculates the selection and displays the result live.
Even a user who has never opened Photoshop should be able to manage without difficulty.

An often astonishing result
This is obviously the point on which Clipping Magic is expected to be focused.
Because there are dozens of tools today that can automatically remove a background. But they are not all created equal.
During my tests, Clipping Magic proved particularly effective. Objects with complex shapes, irregular contours, and even certain tricky areas are generally handled well. A few corrections are sometimes still necessary, but these are usually measured in seconds rather than minutes.
And when you've already spent half an hour manually cutting out a photo, you quickly appreciate the difference.
The tool also offers some additional functions allowing you to refine the outlines, correct certain imperfections or even completely replace the background with a solid color.
An excellent solution… but no longer truly free.
If there is one thing to know before starting, it is this.
Clipping Magic still allows you to test its functionality and preview the results for free. However, downloading high-definition images now requires a paid subscription (expect to pay €3.49 for 15 photos with a one-time subscription).
This choice may put off casual users, but it remains quite logical given the quality of the service offered.
For occasional use, several free alternatives exist today. However, if you regularly need to cut out images, the time saved by Clipping Magic can quickly justify its cost.
Our review of Clipping Magic
Even after all these years, Clipping Magic remains one of the most effective photo clipping tools I have ever used.
It is easy to use, the results are often excellent and the time saved is considerable compared to classic manual retouching.
If you are looking for a simple solution to remove the background from an image without complicating your life, it is definitely worth a look.

Too bad it's not free anymore!
Ah… But I have an article about an alternative that will be published on Friday!
