If you are a bit lazy, the site that I am going to present to you today should please you. Indeed, Dictation is a free online tool that will transcribe the texts that you dictate to it.
This tool is based on the very powerful voice recognition engine developed by Google and is thus capable of understanding around thirty languages, including French. Its main advantage is thatit does not require any installation as can be the case with most voice recognition software. Directly usable in your web browser, the only manipulation you will have to do will be to authorize the use of your microphone.
Dictation, an application for dictating texts online
Dictation has a minimalist interface and looks like a notebook page that you can fill by dictating your text. To do this, choose a quiet environment, without background noise and above all do not speak too quickly and articulate well. If you follow these simple tips, voice recognition should prove formidable!

A glossary is also available in each language to show you the different keywords for breaking lines, adding punctuation, etc.

If you are concerned about how your texts might be used, there is no need to worry. What you dictate is only stored in your browser cache and therefore does not pass through the Internet… The Internet is only used to operate voice recognition: your voice is sent to the servers of Google via Chrome in HTTPS but is not stored there.
One small drawback, however, is that to run Dictation, you will have to use Chrome, as it is the only browser with which the tool is compatible. This is probably due to the use of Google's voice recognition technologies.
Finally, when you're done dictating your text, Dictation offers some pretty cool features. You can copy your text to the clipboard, download in format .txt, send it by email, print it… or even listen to it with the voice of your choice.

In the end, the system is not perfect, but it works well enough to consider using this tool quite extensively! In any case, I'll let you try it so you can get an idea! Don't hesitate to give us your feedback in the comments below!

Hello Max,
I don't see this problem on my side. Maybe you can contact the developer of Dictation to explain your problem?
Thanks for the suggestion
“What you dictate is only stored in your browser cache and therefore does not pass through the Internet… The Internet is only used to operate voice recognition.”
To make voice recognition work, everything has to be sent to the web: the sound when sending, the text when receiving. If Google tools are running behind it, everything is sent to Google.
You are absolutely right, my sentence is not clear. I will clarify.
