Update: MyScriptFont has been replaced by Calligrapher
You know what? I'm going to introduce you to an old thing that's been floating around the web for quite some time... but I don't care!
If you've ever thought it would be cool to be able to write on your computer while using a font that looks very similar to your handwriting, well I have the solution!
Her name is MyScriptFont.com and it lets you create a font from scratch based on your own handwriting… and all in just a few minutes! All you need is a printer, a black pen, and a scanner.
To get started, go to the website MyScriptFont.com and click on “Download the template” to download a PDF with the template that you will use to create your font.
Then take a black pen with a medium-sized tip (a not-too-thick felt-tip pen is ideal!) and start filling in the letter grid.
Do not follow the watermark letters but use them as inspiration to determine the size of your letters. Fill in the uppercase letters, then the lowercase letters, the numbers, the punctuation marks and possibly any special characters that might be useful to you.
FYI, if you make a mistake you can use whiteout and rewrite your letter without any problem.
Then scan your work, taking care to save it in JPG, TIFF or PNG format.
Go back to MyScriptFont.com, in section 2 “Upload”, choose your image, give a name to your font and press “Send File”.
After a few seconds of processing, a link will appear allowing you to download your font.
All that remains is to install it to be able to enjoy it (everything is explained on this page in English depending on your operating system).
TaTadam! And here is the final rendering… and it’s pretty good (in any case it really looks like my handwriting)!

Nice isn't it?
