Framadate, the French alternative to Doodle for planning an event or creating a survey

When you want to find a date with a group of friends or family to organize an event, Doodle is an invaluable toolThis site allows you to suggest a few dates and each participant can indicate their availability.

But I was recently made known Framadate a rather attractive and free Doodle alternative, managed by the French association Framasoft which has been promoting “Free” on the web since 2004.

Framadate offers two tools: a fairly classic survey tool and a tool for finding a date with several people.

Find a date for an event with Framadate

To find a date with Framadate, you will have to click on “Create a special date survey”.

You will then have to enter a certain amount of information in order to create your survey: name, email, survey title, description... and if you wish, some additional options such as the possibility of choosing the survey URL, restricting the rights of participants and managing notification options when respondents respond.

In the second step, you will be able to specify the dates and times that you offer to participants for the planning of your event.

Then, you will be able to choose to shift the archiving date of your survey, knowing that by default, it will be archived 180 days after its last day.

Your survey is finally ready. You get a summary that you can edit if necessary. All you have to do is send the survey link to the participants to start voting.

They will then be able to respond by entering their name and choosing the dates that suit them. For each date they will have 4 options:

• Yes
• immense
• if necessary
• To not answer

Participants can also add comments if they wish.

At the end of the survey, it will then be very easy to find the date that suits the greatest number of participants!

The Simple Survey Tool works on the same principle except that instead of entering dates, you will enter choices that you can add an image and/or a link.

In short, if you are looking for a free Doodle equivalent, then Framadate is a very nice tool 100% made in France which constitutes a really good alternative for organizing your events!
