Freepik is generally known for being yet another stock photo bank offering photos, illustrations and vector images. But this site also has Artificial Intelligence tools that are worth taking a look at. Among these, Freepik Reimagine is an AI-powered tool that is proving to be particularly interesting!
Indeed, Freepik Reimagine is a tool that allows you to load an image onto the site in order to automatically generate a unique prompt and, above all, several variations of the original image !
Infinite variations of a photo thanks to Freepik Reimagine
What could be more frustrating than having a photo available that is almost as you would have liked, but not perfect? Some details bother you and you would like to get some variations to choose the photo or image that best suits your needs. That's exactly what this online tool is for!
To start using Freepik Reimagine, you will first need to create a free account on Freepik. This account, in addition to using the free versions of the online tools offered by Freepik, will give you the right to 10 photos or free images from the image bank.
Once your account is created, go to Freepik Reimagine. There, you will be able to upload any photo for which you want to obtain variants. Drag your photo or click on Upload. The tool will then grind for a few moments, the time to analyze the image, and offer you a prompt perfectly describing your photo. At the same time, the tool will offer you several alternative images generated automatically.
It is possible to modify some parts of the prompt (any part of the prompt in the paid version) to get the image you want. In the example of the blonde girl, I modified the hair color and the background in the prompt. The hair will be dark and the background should be made of plants.
The result is really very satisfying since my young girl has really become brunette (at least in some photos) and she poses in front of a backdrop made up of green plants!
The platform is not limited to modifying the content of the photo, it also allows you to modify its style. You can transform your photo or image with a cartoon, painting, cyberpunk, pixel style… or even switch to a photorealistic if you start from an image or a drawing. Finally, you can dose the degree of "imagination" of the AI, that is to say to what extent the photo will be modified at the whim of the AI. 3 levels are proposed ranging from "subtle" imagination to "wild" imagination.
In its free version, Freepik Reimagine only allows you to perform 3 actions on photos (either upload 3 or make 3 edits)… It's really not enough and very frustrating! But, I'm sure that these 3 daily actions will make you want more! In any case, this is my case as I find this tool effective and very easy to use!
Some examples of using Freepik Reimagine
As you will see with these examples, Freepik Reimagine creates variations of your starting image. It is therefore recreated each image individually from the prompt. These examples were made with a premium subscription.
In this first example, I start with a beautiful sea and cliff landscape. First, I ask the AI to replace the traditional boat with an inflatable duck. Then, I ask it to apply the "Comic" style.
In this second example, I took a beautiful wild river. I asked the AI to switch to winter mode by adding ice and snow. I then started from the initial image to add bears fishing for salmon in the river.
Let's take a final example with the blonde girl. I first ask the AI to transform her into an elderly person. Then in a second step, I finally prefer a teenage boy...
In short, Freepik Reimagine is a really nice tool that is fun to play with. But to really enjoy it, you will unfortunately have to pay!
