If you use your computer a lot, you may find yourself needing to record the actions you are doing on your screen. Some of you will opt for the "DIY" solution of filming your screen using your smartphone, but there are much better things to do!
Indeed, among the solutions available to you, one of them caught my attention, because it is free, online and does not require any installation!
These books are GIFcap, a very good tool that will allow you to record what is happening on your screen and save it as a animated GIF.
Record your screen as GIF with GIFcap
To use it, it's very simple, you just have to go to the site and start recording.
And what's really cool about GIFcap is that it lets you choose what you want to record: your entire screen, a specific application window, or even a browser tab it's open in!
Once you’re done recording, you can adjust the length of the GIF (the beginning or the end) using the trim feature, which appears just below the playbar UI. You can also crop the image, by clicking on your video and moving your cursor to make a selection. It’s actually quite intuitive…
GIFcap works on Chrome and Firefox, but you may need to enable certain permissions in your browser to record your screen. For those curious enough to know the technology behind this tool, you can check out its code on GitHub. As you will see, according to the creator of the tool, João Moreno, everything happens on the client side and therefore nothing happens on the GIFcap servers.
