When you send an email, regardless of the platform you use, you send a certain amount of information to your recipient, including the sender, i.e. the name that will appear in their inbox. But if for one reason or another you are wondering "how do I change my name on gmail", it is absolutely possible to do it. Here is how to do it.
Change your Gmail sender name
For some obscure reason, you can only change the name on your Gmail account on your desktop browser. You can't use the Gmail mobile app on Android, iPhone, or iPad to change your name.
To get started, log in to your Gmail account from your desktop browser. Then click the gear icon in the top right to open the menu. Settings (1)
In this menu, click Show all settings (2)
You are now in the Gmail settings. Then click on the tab Accounts and import.
In the section Send emails as You will see your email address and the name associated with that address. Click on Edit information to change the name that will appear on your emails.
A new window will open. This is where you will be able to change the name associated with your email address by selecting the button next to the white box and entering the name you want to display. Then click on Save Changes.
And there you have it, you will see the new name in the section Send as associated with your email address!
The next time you send an email, your name will be the one you changed and your contacts will receive your messages with that name! Now you know how to change the Gmail sender!
