If you regularly use Google Maps, you may already have your home address (and possibly your work address) set. This feature is great for quickly finding directions to and from your home. But if you move, you'll need to update your address in Google Maps. We'll show you how.
The manipulation can be done on the mobile version of Google Maps or on the computer version. In both cases, it will be taken into account globally on your Google account and you will not have to do it twice.
Change your home address on Google Maps for desktop
Using your favorite internet browser, go to Google Maps and sign in to your Google account.
Once connected, at the top left of the site, in the field research from the map, type “home” (without the quotes) but do not press the Enter key.
In the drop-down menu below the search field you should see your home (with a small house icon).
Click on “EDIT” and delete your old address. Then, all you have to do is type in your new home address and click on “SAVE”.
To change your address desk, the manipulation is identical, except that you will have to search for the word “work” instead of “home”.
Edit your address on the Google Maps mobile app
Again, if you have already made the change on your computer you don't need to do it again, your changes will be taken into account everywhere.
To change your address from your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, open the Google Maps app.
In the app, click the “Saved” button at the very bottom of the screen.
You will then arrive on a new page of the application. In the “Your lists” section, click on the list titled “With label”.
The next screen displays your saved addresses. Next to "Home" click on the three dots and select "Edit Home Address". Alternatively, you can edit your work address in the same way.
In the search box that will then appear, type your new address and click on the correct address in Google's suggestions.
And there you have it! Your address has been changed. You will be able to use it to calculate your next routes!
