Whether you've changed your phone number or want to use a different number for your account, Amazon makes changing phone numbers as easy as changing your password. I'll show you how to do it from your computer and mobile phone to change your phone number on Amazon.
The process is simple. When you change the phone number associated with your account, Amazon sends a verification code to the new number. You must enter this code on the Amazon website or Amazon app (depending on which you use to complete the process) to confirm that the number belongs to you.
Change your Amazon account phone number from a computer
On your computer, whether it's Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook, use the official Amazon website to make changes to your phone number.
- To do this, start by launching a web browser on your computer and open Amazon. Sign into your account if it is not done yet.
- After logging in, in the upper right corner of Amazon, click on Account and Lists.
- On the Your Account page, click Connection & security.
- In some cases, Amazon will ask you for your password again (with strong identification). Do the necessary.
- On the Login & Security page, locate your phone number and click Edit.
- You will arrive on the page Change the number of cellphone. Here, under Mobile number, choose your country's telephone code. Then, in the text box provided, type your new phone number.
- Continue the process by clicking on Continue.
- In the prompt that opens, choose OK.
- You will then receive a code on your new phone number from Amazon. Enter it in the field Enter a code then click Vérifier.
- Amazon will then show you a summary with your old number and the new one. On this page, you must enter your password again. Then, select Save Changes.
And there you have it, it's done. You have successfully associated your new phone number with your Amazon account.
Change your phone number on Amazon from your smartphone
To change your phone number on Amazon from your iPhone, iPad or android phone, start by launching the Amazon app on your phone.
- In the bottom bar of the Amazon app, tap the person icon to access your account.
- At the top of the page that opens, select Your Account.
- In the section Account settingschoose Change email, mobile and password. If you are asked to enter your account password or a security code, do so.
- You then arrive on the page Connection and security, next to Primary mobile phone number, Press on Edit.
- You will arrive on the page Change mobile phone number. Choose your country's telephone code. Then, tap the text box and enter your new phone number.
- When finished, press Continue.
- A confirmation page will appear. Select OK.
- You will receive a verification code via SMS to your new phone number. Write down this code and enter it in the field Enter a code on the Amazon app. Then, tap Vérifier.
- To validate the change, Amazon will ask you again to type the password from your Amazon account. Then press Save Changes.
And there you have it, you have successfully changed your phone number on Amazon. Your old phone number is no longer linked to the account.
