Getting Started with TikTok Slideshow
The basic principle of the slideshow TikTok is simple. We chooses the photos to include in the slideshow, add your favorite music, apply stickers and other filters, and voila! The slideshow is ready to be published. It's that simple.
- To get started, open the TikTok app on your iPhone or smartphone on Android and tap on the “+” (plus) located in the bottom bar.
- It's exactly the same as making a video. At the bottom of the screen, you'll choose the "Upload" option to add photos from your smartphone.
- At the top of the screen, choose the “Photos” category to see only the photos available in your phone’s camera roll
- To add a photo to your selection, tap the circle icon in the top right corner of the photo. Do the same for all the photos you want to add to your slideshow. Note that TikTok remembers the order in which you chose your photos and will add them to your slideshow in the same order (you'll see the order of the photos in the little red circle at the top of the ones you selected).
- Once you have made your selection, in the bottom bar of the app, tap “Next (x)” (where “x” represents the number of photos selected).
TikTok will then integrate your photos into a slideshow. It's starting to take shape, right? You see, nothing too complicated! We're almost there!
Customize and publish your TikTok slideshow
So now you have a first version of your slideshow that you can customize as you wish.
Let's start with the music! To add or change the music for this slideshow, tap the music icon at the very top of the screen (a note and the name of the current song) and choose your favorite track. Don't hesitate to choose a trending song to attract more views...
Similarly, if you want to add other elements like stickers and filters to your slideshow, use the different editing options available on the right panel of the app.
Before going any further, you can also choose between a slideshow that the user will scroll through or a video slideshow in which the photos will scroll through automatically. For the swipe slideshow (first option) choose "Photo" at the bottom of the screen, otherwise opt for "Video".
After applying the desired effects, tap “Next” in the lower right corner of your screen.
And here we are, the last step: publishing! You land on the “Publish” page. Here, add a description for your slideshow, tag people if you want, add lots of relevant (or not) hashtags, change the privacy settings of your post and configure other options.
To finally publish your slideshow, tap on “Publish” in the bottom bar of the app. And that’s it! Your personalized slideshow is now available on your TikTok profile. Your followers can view this slideshow, like it and even comment on it.

Can I change the order of photos once they are added to my TikTok slideshow?
Unfortunately, once you've selected your photos and tapped "Next," TikTok doesn't allow you to change the order of the photos in your slideshow. So make sure you choose your photos in the exact order you want them to appear in your slideshow before tapping "Next."
Can I add text to my photos in TikTok slideshow?
Yes, absolutely. Just like in a TikTok video, you can add text to your photos. After selecting your photos and choosing your music, you will see a “Text” icon on the right side of the screen. Click on it, write your text and adjust its position on the photo.
How can I control the duration of each photo in the slideshow?
Unfortunately, TikTok doesn't currently allow you to directly control how long each photo is displayed in a slideshow. However, the app automatically divides the total duration of the selected music between the photos you've added. So if you want a photo to be displayed longer, you can duplicate it in your selection.
