When it comes to recognizing an animal, a plant or an insect, one thing is for sure, don't count on me! I don't know anything about it and it seems very complicated to me. However, it can be interesting to distinguish species, recognize edible plants...
As for birds, sorry, there is a site, oisillon.net, 100% dedicated to our feathered friends, packed with resources on nest boxes, food, feeders... in short, everything you need to know to be a perfect ornithologist!
But what caught our attention on this site was its bird identification tool!
Identify a bird using the Oisillon.net website
This unique tool uses a comprehensive bird database and guides you through a detailed questionnaire to help you identify the bird you are observing. It asks you to indicate various characteristics of the bird, such as size, feather color, beak shape and color, leg color, and behavior.
The goal is to collect as much information as possible about the bird you are trying to identify. The more details you provide, the more the tool will be able to refine its suggestions. Starting from a list of 75 birds commonly found in gardens in France, it will eventually suggest one or a few birds that match the description you have given.

Once the identification is complete, you can access a detailed card for each bird. These cards provide a complete description of the bird, including information on its diet, habitat, as well as photos and a recording of the bird's song.

In short, if like me you are a bird nerd, this handy little tool should help you identify the birds that pass over your head or settle in your garden!
