Today, many of us have a high-tech Swiss army knife in our pocket, namely a smartphone. Although it is a priori a telephone, for a few years now its main function, which allows us to call people, has been losing importance in the face of other features that have become more or less indispensable.
Indeed, a smartphone is at the same time a telephone, a GPS, a watch, a portable music player, a video game console, a television, a camera... and so on, as the current uses of a smartphone are numerous thanks to the applications that can be installed.
But what about 30 years ago?
In the space of just over a generation, electronics and computers have revolutionized the world and its means of communication, to the point that authors like Jeremy Rifkin even speak of 3th industrial revolution.
This transformation began a few decades ago with the arrival on the market of new, highly innovative products (for the time) that are now part of our daily lives: personal computers, fax machines, portable music players (Walkman and others), increasingly powerful game consoles, etc. Many companies were created or emerged to form today's major industrialists: Sony, Microsoft, Apple, etc.
