What I like about the web is that there are people who really ask the right questions. We already had the guy who estimated the length of a football field in Olive and Tom or the one who tried to measure the distance traveled by Mario in Super Mario Bros, we now have the ultimate Star Wars fan wondering how much a real-life Darth Vader costume would cost!
Well, guess what, you're not about to get your Darth Vader suit tailored for you, because it would cost you a whopping $18.3 million. Yeah, right now, that makes you think!
The bulk of this sum actually comes from the combination (base suit) since it would cost $12 million, because the cockpits of the Empire's ships are not pressurized.
Next up are Darth Vader's prosthetics... our poor man being drunk, the price of these artificial limbs and their maintenance throughout DV's life would represent an investment of 5.4 million dollars.
As a result, the rest is much more affordable since it will cost only a little under a thousand dollars to integrate a voice synthesizer to modulate the character's very recognizable voice.
