With summer vacations in full swing, travel search engine liligo.com has published an infographic on connected travelers, from the perspective of comparing young and old (yes, we say seniors to make it sound better).
The infographic below therefore shows the results of this study on the use of the Internet by the French during the holidays. On the left, the young (18-24 years old) and the old (60 years old and over). The objective of this study was therefore to know if the young had a very different behavior from the seniors with regard to the Internet during their trips.
Ultimately, if the results tend to be in the logical direction with a greater use and willingness of young people to stay connected than seniors, seniors are not left behind and are rather in tune with the times.
In terms of equipment, 98% of young people do not consider their holidays without a smartphone, compared to 60% of seniors. Regarding laptops and tablets, the two generations are much closer with rather weak results for tablets, which will only be used by 25% of young people and seniors (while the tablet is particularly suitable for holidays).
New trend from theInternet Everywhere, the Digital detox (digital detox) represents the desire of individuals to completely cut themselves off from the Internet and digital technologies during their holidays. On this side, only 16% of young people want to disconnect while one in four seniors displays this ambition… perhaps because of their lower connection.
In short, I'll let you discover all of this in the infographic below...
