There are a plethora of large file transfer services online, but the one I'm going to introduce to you today is really great!
JustBeamIt actually allows you to transfer for free any file without size or speed limits…you will just be constrained by your download speeds!
Share a large file with JustBeamIt
To be effective, JustBeamIt uses a system of peer-to-peer transfer (P2P). Thus the file passes directly from your computer to that of the recipient and therefore does not pass through any server. It is this transfer protocol which makes the interest but also the limit of the system.
The interest, first of all, is that using P2P allows you to transfer all your files without any size limit. You can thus share files of several gigas or tens of gigas, without any worries. The download speed is only limited by your internet connection and that of the person receiving the file.
The limitation of the system is that you have to keep your browser and the JustBeamIt page open for the entire duration of the file sharing and transfer.
To select a file to share, it's very simple, just drag it onto the JustBeamIt home page or click on the parachute to retrieve it from your hard drive. Then click on the green "Create Link" button to generate a link.
All you have to do is share this link with the recipient of the file so that they can start the download by clicking on “Download”.
Also note that this site works equally well on both computers and mobile devices.
And it is possible to share several files at the same time which will then be grouped in a ZIP archive.
The only downside is that you will have to be relatively quick to share your link and download your file, because the link is only valid for 10 minutes. The idea is certainly not to clutter the site's servers with useless or unused links... however, if your link expires, simply click on the "Create Link" button to regenerate a new one.
In short, JustBeamIt is a free service that has been around on the web for quite some time and is definitely worth checking out!
