If you've been reading this blog for a few years, you know that I like the Konyks brand. Indeed, this French Tech brand tries to offer innovative, reliable and reasonably priced products in the world of connected homes.
Konyks has therefore developed connected products in many areas: detectors, cameras, lighting, garden, heating, but also in that of sockets!
And it is this last area that we are going to talk about with the new take Priska USB.

Priska USB: the connected socket with consumption meter and 2 USB A sockets
The era of chargers seems to be coming to an end. Many devices and accessories today are supplied without a charger, and usually only come with a charging cable. This charging cable is in most cases equipped with a USB-A connector that allows it to be connected to a computer or an old charger lying around.
In any case, I don't know about you, but at home it's a bit of a struggle to find 1/ an available power outlet and 2/ a charger or USB slot to charge phones and other accessories.
This is where Priska USB comes in… tada!
This connected and remotely controllable socket is really very practical thanks to the two USB-A sockets which accompany the classic power socket.

Regarding the side "connected", the Priska USB socket works (in particular) with the Konyks application which allows you to install it, control it remotely, automate its operation or create scenarios.
For example, it is very practical for programming the lighting of a garland on your balcony at the time when the sun sets. I tested it last year at Christmas with another socket from the Priska range and it is really great!

Then, in these times when energy consumption is a real issue, the Priska USB integrates a consumption meter. This will allow you to view the instantaneous electricity consumption of the socket and follow a history over a year.
One of the advantages of this meter system is, for example, to program the shutdown of the socket when consumption falls below a certain threshold. If consumption is very low, this may in fact mean that the charge your smartphone is finished and it is therefore no longer relevant to leave it plugged in.
Among other interesting points in bulk:
- if you use it in your bedroom, the light indicator on the socket can be turned off so you won't be disturbed at night and you can be sure of total darkness
- It is possible to set up a random schedule to simulate a presence
- you can choose the status the socket will have after a power outage (on / off)
- The plug is compatible with Google Home, Alexa and the Siri shortcuts
Finally, and this is also important, the look of the Priska USB is resolutely modern and discreet!
And the price in all this?
The good thing about the Priska USB is that despite all these advantages, it remains reasonably priced.
In fact, Konyks offers this plug for only €29.90, barely more expensive than a quality charger with two USB ports.
