The title is a bit of a rip-off, sure. But this invention is of public utility if you are the type to drink your café or your tea otherwise than neatly placed on a clean and clear table.
A designer duo: Yve Thelermont and David Hupton from Thelermont Hupton have created the perfect mug for people who nestle their cup on their lap while hanging out in bed, on a sofa, in front of the computer...
After all, why couldn't design serve everyday utility? Our lifestyles are changing very quickly and we should do everything we can to adapt to them and make the most of them. No more haphazard balance of mugs and other bowls placed anywhere, glasses spilled on the keyboard or on the sofa.
Personally, I think this mug is awesome and would use it in many situations:
- If, like mine, your office looks like the northern districts of Marseille and you can no longer even put a glass there, all that remains is to colonize the others available spaces and thighs seem perfectly useful for that.
- The cold days, evenings and nights that are coming are the perfect excuse: in front of a little film, during your revisions or in any other situation that requires sitting in a more or less comfortable way: your mini hot water bottle thighs will be there to comfort you (while giving you your caffeine fix).
We already do it often with flat mugs but if you have the misfortune to drop the mug for a few seconds without being focused on not moving an inch, and if, double combo, your coffee/tea/chocolate is still very hot, hello disaster and Biafine (not to mention the mood that goes with it). Here, the shape is specially adapted and the mug is well wedged.
That said, its design also allows it to be placed on a flat surface, it will then be a little skewed, be careful not to fill it too much.
So stop dieting, boil some water, and enjoy ! And for once we can laugh at models and others Thigh Gapers, we're not going to deprive ourselves of it!
Available here in several colours, it costs around €15.
So, what do you think?
Please note that, for those who prefer (or for those who one-legged) there is also a version for the knees, or rather the lower thighs.
