If you've ever had to include mathematical formulas or graphs in a text, you've probably realized that it's not that simple. Word does have some tools, but they're not necessarily very easy to use and even less so very complete.
Fortunately, there is Mathcha.
Mathcha is a very complete and extremely powerful online mathematical formula and graph editor! And to make using such a tool even more enjoyable, it's also free!
The utility has an interface composed of a space where you write your formulas, your problems or your graphs and different toolbars that evolve according to what you are editing (graph, text, etc.). But basically, it feels like a word processor full of features dedicated to math!
Once you are satisfied with what you have edited, you can generate an export of your formulas or graphs in different formats: image, PDF or even LaTeX.
Getting to grips with the tool still requires a bit of involvement (this is the downside when you have a very comprehensive tool), but there is documentation (in English) really clear and well done which allows you to understand the functionalities of Mathcha quite quickly.
Among the features we find:
- access from anywhere via your web browser (and the ability to save your documents by creating a free account)
- a relatively exhaustive list of mathematical symbols
- graph and diagram drawing tools
- the ability to share your documents via a unique URL
- exporting your formulas as an image, vector graphic (SVG) or PDF
- import/export in LaTeX
- full of shortcuts and suggestion lists to save time
Finally, if the web version is free, Mathcha also has a version that can be installed on Windows or Mac, which requires a paid license (from 1.75 to 2.60 euros per month depending on the type of subscription you choose).
