The Ma-config website that you may already know has just reached a new milestone and is now called DriversCloud…and this is the opportunity for me to talk about this service that I had never really mentioned on Byothe.fr.
For many years, Ma-config's strong point has been to offer you an online service allowing you to scan your computer to detect its configuration and at the same time offer you up-to-date versions of the drivers for your various peripherals in partnership with the site AllTheDrivers.com.
But 2015 will have been the year of change.
In April, Ma-config broke away from TousLesDrivers to create its own driver database, thus ensuring better control over the entire process from detection to the proposal of a relevant driver.
In July, version 8 of Ma-config was released. Until version 6, the system was completely integrated into the web browser thanks to ActiveX and NPAPI technologies. But with the evolution of web browsers, these features are likely to become obsolete. As a result, version 7 was a first step towards software running locally on your machine. But it is this brand new version (8) that provides a sustainable and lasting solution thanks to the development of a real detection application installed directly on your computer.
And the last step of this revolution took place a few days ago since Ma-config.com changed its name to now be called DriversCloud. Indeed, given the success of this French web service which had been ported to 7 languages, the desire of the creators of the site is now to facilitate the experience of users throughout the world by giving it a name which will be more meaningful at the international level.
With this name change, DriversCloud should gain greater visibility on the web and this is very good news for all its users since this will undoubtedly ensure a long life for this very practical tool!
My-config is dead, long live DriversCloud !
