So you suddenly feel like writing a text. Unfortunately, you don't have any word processing software on hand... and you don't want to install a free Word clone or use Notepad because it's too restrictive.
You should know that there is Paperr, a minimalist and free website whose sole purpose is to transform your internet browser into a relatively basic word processor.
Paperr, the online word processor
Indeed, when you arrive on the Paperr site, you will directly come across a blank page that you will be able to fill with your most beautiful lines of digital writing!
Paperr has most of the features essential for writing a text, including a formatting box containing the bare essentials, namely:
- a formatting for quotes
- 2 title formats (H1 and H2)
- a simple text format (p for paragraph)
- gras
- italics
- highlighted
- the ability to add a URL to a piece of text
And that's it... yes I grant you it's a bit limited, but it allows you to get to the essentials!

In terms of the features surrounding this tool, you will find at the very top of the page a paragraph, word and character counter.
Finally, please note that your texts are saved locally in your web browser's cache, which means that your text will be temporarily saved in your browser if you close it or close the Paperr tab. However, if you clear your browser's cache, your text will disappear.
But rest assured, the editor has some features to retrieve your text. You can indeed send it to yourself by email, print it or save it as a PDF on your computer… or else use a good copy/paste of the families…
In short, Paperr is not a super sophisticated word processor, but it can help you out if you don't want to install dedicated software and you only have limited uses for this type of tool!
