In 2012-2013, the Californian photographer Sioin Queenie Liao She arranges fabrics, stuffed animals, and everyday objects around her sleeping son. Each scene illustrates the dreamlike journey she imagines for him: a hot air balloon, a safari under the stars, fishing under the moon… The series comprises more than a hundred images. Wengenn in Wonderland.
The whole thing quickly spread across blogs and magazines. Today, the project is still circulating – and Wengenn himself has grown up quite a bit, proof that time passes more quickly than a baby's nap.

What became of Queenie Liao
Based in Tracy, California, she still photographs her three sons and publishes an annual calendar featuring her staged photos. She also leads creative workshops for new parents, demonstrating how a simple sheet can become a fairytale setting.
Why is this series still popular?
A sheet, a few toys, a camera: the recipe is simple, the result immediate. Each image tells a mini-story that's easy to grasp at a glance. And, above all, it reminds us that with a little imagination, and a sound asleep baby, Everyday life can be transformed into a visual adventure!
