Photoshop is without a doubt the cream of the crop when it comes to photo editing. It is both a very complete and very complex software on which extensive practice is necessary to achieve a good level of mastery. There are a number of free alternatives such as The Gimp which allow you to edit photos without breaking the bank.
But today I'm going to talk to you about Photopea which is a free and online alternative to Photoshop! Its advantage beyond its free nature, lies in the fact that there is nothing to install!
Photopea has an interface very similar to Photoshop's which makes things easier for regulars. At the top, the different menus, on the left, the toolbar, on the right the information bar with the audit trail, the layers... and of course, in the center, the workspace!

Just like Photoshop, you can start from scratch and create an image or open a file on your computer. The strength of this tool is that it works with the formats of most reference software (Photoshop, GIMP, Sketch App, Adobe XD and CorelDRAW).
Your files can then be saved in JPG, PNG, SVG or even PSD format!
There are many tools and you can even find most of the filters available on Photoshop... As someone who uses Photoshop (very badly), I really had the impression of finding myself on a very, very similar tool.
Edit a PSD file with Photopea
The good news is that Photopea is really a free and online alternative to Photoshop. Indeed, this tool is able to open Photoshop's native files, PSD files.
The different layers are clearly visible, which allows you to work efficiently on files from Adobe software.

This makes it possible to edit existing layers or even add new ones and save the changes without losing the PSD formatting… which will allow you to continue your edits in Photoshop if necessary.
This makes Photopea an ideal tool to replace Photoshop occasionally or more permanently on a machine where this expensive software is not installed!
Photopea, a very complete online image editing tool
Beyond the similarities, Photopea cleverly offers predefined templates that will allow you to quickly complete certain projects such as creating a cover image for Facebook, YouTube or Twitter.

All these elements and its ease of use undoubtedly make Photopea one of the most complete online image editing tools currently available. And who says complete, says complex to master… that said, by tinkering a little it is quite possible to achieve your goals… In addition, there are a fairly incredible number of tutorials for Photoshop that you can probably use or adapt to this tool!
In short, Photopea has won me over and I can only highly recommend it!
