Hello, nostalgia lovers!
Released in 1987 in Europe, the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) is one of the greatest successes in the world of video game consoles. It is even the 12th best-selling console in the world (with 61.9 million units sold to date). Its success is such that we even saw a "mini" version appear some time ago to be marketed for fans of retro games.
But without having to take your old console out of the cellar, you will be able to play directly in your web browser thanks to JSNES an emulator developed in JavaScript by Ben Firshman. If you are a bit of a handyman, the source of the emulator is also available on GitHub.
The emulator will allow you to play 26 games, including great classics like Super Mario Bros. (1, 2 and 3), Duck Hunt or even the essential Zelda II.
But beyond these 26 games, if you have ROMs on your computer, you will be able to use this emulator to play them by simply dragging and dropping.
In short, this emulator works really well, and allows you to play with the keyboard on any browser... that's not all, but I'm going back, I have to deliver Princess Zelda!
