Prevent the display of warning messages about internet cookies

Article updated on January 6, 2025

For several years now, most of the websites you visit (including Byothe.fr) have displayed a warning message to indicate that they use cookies. Cookies and that if you browse the site you accept that the site in question uses these cookies.

To put it simply, a cookie is a small text file that is saved on your computer when you access a website and that allows certain navigation data to be stored in order to save your preferences for this website or for example a shopping cart when you are on a merchant site. Nothing too bad in general, but it can happen that personal information appears there.

Due to European regulations and increased awareness of online privacy, every website must obtain user permission before installing tracking cookies. If you surf anonymously or if you automatically delete cookies every time you close your browser, websites will ask for this permission again and again…

In France, the law requires French websites to inform Internet users and obtain their consent before using cookies (see CNIL website).

Some sites only show you the message periodically, but others give it to you every time you visit... and after a while it can become annoying.

Block cookie notifications with I don't Care About Cookies

But this is not inevitable, since there is an extension that works with the main Internet browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera), which allows you to block these alert messages: I don't care about cookies…its name is very explicit!

In most cases, this extension simply blocks or hides cookie pop-ups. When necessary for the website to function properly, it automatically accepts the cookie policy for you (sometimes it accepts all cookie categories and sometimes only the necessary cookie categories, whichever is easier to do). However, it does not delete cookies!

Block Cookies notifications with I don't care about cookies

The extension works automatically, but it is possible to exclude a site so as not to block cookie notifications from this site.

Download the extension on different browsers:

This web browser extension will thus remove these notifications on several tens of thousands of websites… and if ever it does not work on certain sites, the developer asks you not to hesitate to report the recalcitrant sites to him by making a right click and choosing “Report a cookie warning”.

In short, here is a small extension that will help improve your browsing comfort! For my part, I have been using it for several years and I am very satisfied with it!

  1. Thanks for the info, which I had already seen on Korben. This law on cookies is useless, and the banner display is horrible in terms of UX
