With the advent of teleworking, I increasingly find myself needing to share small files with my colleagues or even with myself between different computers. While it is still possible to send files by email, this has several drawbacks: low size limit, unnecessary server saturation, low efficiency, etc.
But I recently discovered a free service online which allows you to intelligently share small files (50MB max per file) very easily via the creation of virtual rooms!
By the way, I told you in 2020 about FileRoom, a fairly similar service but which didn't last long, much to my regret!
Share documents online with QuickSync
The operating principle of QuickSync is based on the creation of a virtual room that will allow you to exchange text and documents with several users. To do this, you just have to give them the room code so that they can connect and exchange with you. The system does not require any user account creation... which is very nice!
Regarding system limits, you cannot share more than 10 files in the same room for a total size of 50MB and a limit per file of 50MB.

But what's interesting with QuickSync is that the effort has been focused on two elements: the security of your documents and improving your carbon footprint!
First of all, regarding security, the principle of QuickSync lies in peer-to-peer sharing. Thus, your documents pass from your browser to your contacts. They are not stored on any server! The data exchanged is encrypted from end to end and is secured by QuickSync.
Likewise, you will have understood, the absence of intermediate servers has a second advantage: your file transfer will not consume additional energy! Indeed, the energy required for data storage is responsible for 0.8% of global emissions!
Finally, when you close your browser, all shared data disappears and is no longer accessible to your interlocutors.
