If you read a lot of articles on the web, Sometimes it can be useful to know how much time you will need to read an article.. If you are in a hurry and the article is too long, you will read it later, on the other hand if it only takes 2 minutes to read it you will be able to skim it before leaving.
The extension for Chrome Readism offers this very feature and it’s pretty handy!
Readism uses a smart algorithm that scans the page to find article-like content and then calculates reading time based on body text, word count, word type…
I've done some testing of this extension and find it gives a very consistent estimate of reading time.
But that's not all. There is a really cool feature in Readism : you can right-click on a link and choose “ Get Reading Time » to get the reading time of an article before even visiting the page!
The interface of this extension is minimalistic and uses very few resources, which will not slow down your web browsing at all. So you have no reason not to use this free extension!
