Le Bitcoin has not finished making headlines. Indeed, at the beginning of September the famous cryptocurrency broke a new record by recording a transaction for an amount of just over 1 billion dollars (around 900 million euros).
Thus, 94 Bitcoins were moved to an anonymous wallet on September 504th when the currency was worth around $6. It was the Whale Alert account that announced the operation on Twitter.

These bitcoins do not all come from the same account, but from 15 different addresses. The account to which they were transferred becomes the 5th largest BTC wallet… and it is the only one not dependent on a cryptocurrency exchange platform.
Beyond the impressive amount of this transfer, what is quite remarkable is the amount of fees paid for this transaction. In fact, only $700 of fees were applied (a rate of approximately 0.00007%) and this is one of the big advantages of the bitcoin compared to traditional currencies.
While this is indeed a record, it is not the first time that such amounts of bitcoins have been exchanged. A week before this operation, a movement of $780 million had already been recorded and another of $212 million in May 2019.
On the other hand, in terms of the number of bitcoins exchanged, this transaction is not a record since in November 2013, no less than 194 BTC had changed hands. However, at the time the value of the cryptocurrency was lower and the transaction was then valued at just over $993 million.
