There are many reasons why you might want to record what is happening on your computer screen. Whether you are a teacher wanting to show your students a manipulation or a video game enthusiast wanting to show off your latest exploits... the needs are numerous and there are quite a few software programs that allow you to do so. But these programs require installation on your computer and are often resource-intensive.

To start recording your screen with RecordCast, you don't need to create a user account, just go to the website and click the "Start Recording" button.
You will then be taken to a screen where you can choose to record microphone sound, computer sound, or simply record no sound. You will then need to choose whether you want to record a specific area, a window, or the entire screen.
Then press “Click to Start Recording” to start recording. The tool will then ask you what you want to record: a specific screen (if you have multiple screens), an application or even a Chrome tab (if you are using the utility from chrome.
The recording will then start. Do whatever you need to do, knowing that the video cannot exceed 10 minutes. When you are finished, press the red square to stop recording.
At this point, you can directly upload your video or choose to edit it using RecordCast's built-in editor by clicking "Edit This Screencast Now".
With the editing tool, you will be able to import or record other videos in order to integrate them into your project, add text, shorten or cut your video, but also crop it.
