James, a reader of Byothe.fr, told me a few days ago about this new tool that I didn't know about, allowing you to resize images very easily. So I'm going to tell you a little more about it in detail.
If you follow this blog a little, you know that there are many free and online photo or image editing tools. But the interest of the site ResizeJPEG, is that it only offers one feature that it does very well: resize your images !
As a result, its use is particularly simple and will advantageously replace photo processing software or even Paint which can be complicated to use or unsuitable for simple image resizing.
Behind this particularly explicit name (Resize JPEG) hides a tool allowing you to proportionally resize most common image formats, namely: JPG (of course), PNG and GIF.
Please note, this is not a cropping tool!
Resize an image with ResizeJPEG
When I tell you that this tool is easy to use, it really is!
- Visit ResizeJPEG
- At this point you have several options for choosing an image to resize:
- Drag and drop your image from your computer to the black bar of the site (where it says “Select files”),
- Press “Select Files” to browse your computer for search for your image
- or if your image is already on the Internet, click on "URL Upload" and specify the URL of the image you are interested in
- Choose how much you want to reduce your image (from 10 to 95% of its original size) or specify a width in pixels
- Press the “Resize” button
- The utility will run for a few seconds
- And all you have to do is upload your resized photo
The cool thing is that you get a summary showing you the weight of the photo before and after resizing. So you can see how much weight you've saved!
Additionally, it is possible to process multiple images at the same time which you can retrieve in a zip archive or individually.
Finally, the tool also offers to compress your image in order to slim it down using another utility from the same developer!
In short, a handy little utility to keep handy!

easy apparently. Thanks to you and your reader.
