I often need to transfer files or pieces of text between my phone and my desktop computer or between the latter and my laptop. There are plenty of solutions to achieve this, such as sending the file by email or depositing it on Dropbox… But these solutions are neither practical nor universal. Indeed, it works with small files, but for large files, it is more complicated.

Note: If you are using Windows and you try to install the application on your computer, you may receive an alert telling you that the application is suspicious. So on the alert message, click on Further information. This will bring up two buttons and you will need to click on Run anyway to start the installation.

- either you do not want to install anything on this second device and you can retrieve the files by entering a URL communicated by the tool (or by scanning a QR Code)
- either you install Sharik on this device which offers you a simpler and more effective solution over time.
Both work and achieve the result, but by installing the application, the process is simpler since you do not have to enter a URL.
For this to work, it is necessary, of course, that both devices are connected to the same WiFi network whether it's your local network or a connection share with a mobile phone. So, this file transfer method does not require an internet connection and can work as long as there is a WiFi network nearby.
