How to view saved WiFi passwords on iPhone or iPad?

Your iPhone or your iPad is a good way to find your WiFi password. Indeed, since iOS 16, Apple has introduced the ability to display saved WiFi network passwords.

How to view saved WiFi passwords on your iPhone or iPad?

For a very long time, your wifi passwords saved on your iPhone or iPad were inaccessible unless you jailbroken your device. But since the release of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, Apple has added the ability to view them. Rest assured, we're talking about Apple so this process remains secure!

To find the password of a WiFi network saved on your device, open the app Settings and go to Wi-Fi.

To find the password for the network you are currently connected to

Tap the name of the network you are connected to to view details.

Le network password and currently hidden by dots. Just click on it. You will have to prove your identity by typing your code PIN or via TouchID or FaceID then the password will be displayed in clear text!

To find other WiFi passwords saved on an iPhone or iPad

If you want to view previous networks you've connected to, return to the page Wi-Fi and just press the button Edit in the upper right corner.

You will then see the list of all the WiFi networks saved on your iPhone or iPad. Click on the small “i” of the one you are interested in to access the network details.

You'll see a screen similar to the one you see when you select your active WiFi network. Again, just tap on "Password" (or anywhere in the frame) to reveal the password, which is currently hidden by dots. Just tap on it. You'll need to prove your identity by typing in your PIN or via TouchID or FaceID.

You can then copy the password and save it somewhere else, or send it to a friend. Be careful to share it sparingly, especially if it's a password you use elsewhere (which is not recommended). Remember that all your passwords must be strong and completely unique.
